Core workflow

E-signatures

Send a document for signature, place signature, date, and text fields, and track who has signed.

For documents that need a signature rather than just an upload, docEvault includes built-in e-signing.

Sending for signature

  1. From a document, start a signing request.
  2. Choose who needs to sign — your contact, a team member, or both.
  3. Place signature, date, and text fields on the document where each recipient needs to complete something.
  4. Send. Each recipient gets a link to review and sign in their browser.

Multiple signers

You can add more than one recipient, which is what you want for anything needing a co-signer or a spouse. Each signer gets their own link and completes their own fields.

Tracking

docEvault tracks signing status automatically and notifies you as each recipient completes their part. You can see who has opened the document and who still hasn't, which is usually enough to know whether to send a nudge or pick up the phone.

Signing vs. filling

If what you actually need is information typed into a form rather than a signature on a document, use fillable forms instead. The two work similarly but produce different things: signing produces an executed document, filling produces a completed form.
