Your link arrives by email, and by text as well if the firm has your mobile number and you've agreed to be texted. If neither has turned up, work through these in order.
1. Check your spam and junk folders
This is the answer most of the time. Search your mailbox for docEvault rather than scrolling — the message may have been filed somewhere unexpected, and searching finds it in promotions, updates, and archive folders too.
2. Check the address the firm has for you
Firms often have an old address on file, or a work address you no longer read. If you've changed email since you last dealt with them, that's very likely the cause.
3. Look for an earlier request
If you've worked with this firm before, you may be looking at an old link. Each request has its own link, and a new request doesn't reuse the previous one. Make sure you're opening the most recent message.
4. Ask the firm to resend
Contact the firm directly and ask them to resend the request. They can do this immediately, and they can correct your email address or phone number at the same time.
They're the only ones who can resend it. docEvault support can't send you a link to another firm's request, because we have no way to verify that the request is yours — which is the same protection that stops anyone else requesting access to your documents.
If the link has stopped working
An old link can stop working if the firm has since sent a newer request. Ask them for the current one.
